Las lágrimas de San Lorenzo no son las Perseidas
Hoy 10 de agosto se celebra el día de San Lorenzo (Lorentxo), patrón de las fiestas de Astrabudua en Erandio-Bizkaia y coincide con el fin de unas fiestas brillantes con una gran participación popular. Esta noche cuando terminen las jaiak habrá alguna que otra lágrima. A la organización de las jaiak les proponemos para próximas ediciones que realicen alguna quedada nocturna para contemplar las otras lágrimas de San Lorenzo, hay varias asociaciones de astronomía que podrían asesorarnos en el tema y desde las “tres cruces”, como actividad lúdica podríamos buscar los meteoritos típicos de estas fechas, que radian de la constelación de Perseo.
San Lorenzo fue asado a la parrílla como mártir en el año 258, donde ejercía de diácono, archivero y por eso es el patrón de los bibliotecarios. Cuando hace calor por eso decimos que como calienta Lorenzo (el sol).
El cuerpo progenitor de las Perseidas es el cometa 109P/Swift-Tuttle, descubierto por Lewis Swift y Horace Parnell Tuttle el 19 de julio de 1862, posee un diámetro de 9,7 kilómetros y su órbita alrededor del Sol tiene un período de 135 años (fuente wikipedia).
La forma de nombrar los cometas es un número, en unos casos aumentando a medida que se van descubriendo o la fecha de descubrimiento, con una letra que indica la quincena del año y el apellido del descubridor o descubridores, una C o una P si son periódicos. El Halley es el primero que se conoce y sólo por su nombre.
Este fenomeno anual se puede observar toda la semana pero será mas apreciable la noche del jueves entre las 22.30 y las 02.00 horas del viernes, aunque las previsiones son de mucha nubosidad que se acerca desde el norte. Hoy el cielo estará despejado.
Erandio es una buena zona para observar el cielo, desde Goiherri (monte Umbe o Akarlanda), la zona de Arriagas o la de las tres cruces en Astrabudua, pero tienen el problema de muchas ciudades: la contaminación lumínica y el deficiente, contaminante y derrochador sistema de alumbrado público.
En éste comentario hemos mezclado dos hechos las jaiak y las estrellas, y lo hacemos de forma consciente para insistir que las auténticas jaiak son las populares, las de participación ciudadana y hay un hecho que nos preocupa, es la excesiva presencia de estrellas políticas que se están cargando las fiestas populares: unos mandando a la ertzantza para que se note quien manda, otros cerrando txosnas como el Alcalde de Bilbao o lo que es igual de grave no autorizando a otras comparsas a instalar sus txosnas, entre ellas la que la asociación Aberrigintza, donde participamos la gente de Eusko Alkartasuna.
El señor Azkuna se está cargando las fiestas populares, centrándolas en teatro, toros y fiestas en los hoteles, lo que le gusta a él, al PSOE y al PP, que le consideran una “estrella” organizando fiestas NO populares.
Desde EA de Erandio nuestra solidaridad con quienes no han montado su txosna porque no les han dejado y con quienes luchan durante todo el año para tener unas fiestas “patrimonio de todos”, no sólo del Bilbao conservador y trasnochado.
