Absueltos los 20 responsables de Udalbiltza Kursaal
La Sala Primera de lo Penal de la Audiencia Nacional ha absuelto a todos los responsables de la Asamblea de Electos de Batasuna conocida como Udalbiltza Kursaal, un total de 20 personas que se enfrentaban a una petición fiscal de penas de 10 años de prisión por delitos de integración en organización terrorista. Los magistrados consideran que Udalbiltza es “un proyecto nacionalista pero no terrorista”.
Entre los acusados absueltos se encuentran Xabier Alegría, que coordinaba la entidad por designación de la Comisión Ejecutiva, y Joseba Mikel Garmendia, presunto miembro del aparato de finanzas de ETA y al que la Fiscalía consideraba responsable en este caso concreto de los asuntos económicos de la entidad ilícita.
Además de Alegría y Garmendia estaban acusados los concejales Miren Karmele Urbistondo (Urnieta), Oscar Goñi (Vera de Bidasoa) y Larraitz Sanzberro (Oiartzun). El resto de procesados son Leire Idoyaga, José Manuel Jurado Torvisco, Lander Echebarría Garitacelaya, Eider Casanova, Loren Arkotxa, Miren Josu Aramburu, Imanol Esnaola, Xabier Iragorri, Esperanza Iriarte, Miren Jasone Astibia, Urko Irastorza, Maria Victoria Ugarteburu, Juan Carlos Alducín, Miren Odriozola e Ibon Arbulu.
Según defendía la Fiscalía, Udalbiltza Kursaal intentó jugar un papel predominante en la reorientación de la actividad de ETA para continuar con el llamado “Proyecto de Construcción Nacional” de la banda y depende directamente de ella.
